About Red Neptune Productions

My IMDB profile

Hi! I'm Wayne Tapia, a Certified Audio Engineer with over 20 years in the business. As a young boy, I found myself the inheritor of a bunch of recording gear and began messing with the stuff, as any kid would do. Before I knew it, I taught myself how to create tape delay, tape flanging and phasing, multi tracking, proximity effects, and tape compression all before I was 13. From there, I went on to leaning the guitar, bass, and drums - playing in bands - and recording EVERYTHING. As the years progressed, I found myself in the Seattle prog band ASHLAND co-writing and producing 3 CD's that sold worldwide. In 2003, I moved to Orlando and completed my degree in audio engineering, moved back to the Pacific Northwest and began my full time career of "recording stuff". With a handful of movies under my belt, and a plethora of bands on file, I am continually searching for new inspiration and new knowledge in a field that changes constantly.

It is my true belief that sound is the most powerful tool you can use to convey emotion, whether it's a film soundtrack or a musical performance. Sound can make you nervous, happy, angry, even amorous...don't believe me? Try watching your favorite movie listening only to the center channel (dialog). Not having those other elements there really changes the makeup of the film, huh?

I am a Member of ASCAP since 2000, AES since 2003. I am Digidesign Certified as a Pro Tools User, and a graduate of The Audio Recording Technology Institute in Orlando, Florida. I am on the "on call" roster for The Victory Studios and Art In Music of Seattle, Washington, and - quite obviously - a freelance audio engineer.
